NOKIA 808 DESIGNED FOR SOME SERIOUS PROFESSIONAL SHOOTING OF GREAT PHOTOS AND VIDEOS !

Shooting great photos and videos

Nokia 808 PureView video shooting

Picture it your way

Different people want different things from a camera. Some just want to point and shoot, while other people want more creative control. So Nokia 808 PureView offers a choice of shooting modes to suit all levels of photographic expertise and experience: Automatic, Scenes and Creative.

Nokia 808 PureView automatic camera mode

Automatic

Automatic is for people who simply want to point, shoot and share high quality photos and videos with minimal input required. In this mode, all settings are chosen automatically to suit the shooting situation. In fact the only manual setting is the flash, which you can switch on or off depending on the scene.

Nokia 808 PureView Scenes camera mode

Scenes

Scenes is for photographers who want a bit more control over their end results, but perhaps lack the experience of an out-and-out expert. In Scenes mode, settings are simplified into a selection of subjects or scenarios – such as beach, concert or portrait. Within these, you’ll have a degree of manual control – for example in concert scene setting you can switch from daylight to spotlight.

Nokia 808 PureView creative camera mode

Creative

If you’ve got a specific creative vision in mind, this is the mode to choose. It gives you complete control over camera settings and shooting parameters so you can tailor them to suit any scene or subject. Perfect for the more experienced photographer, it’s the best way to achieve the results you want – whatever the conditions.

Nokia number 1 in Indian mobile market Ranking (Nokia 808 PureView for Nokia India coming soon)

The Times of India reports that according to a study by CyberMedia, Nokia maintains their number 1 position of the Indian market with 31% of the market, followed by Samsung at 15% and MicroMax at 5%.

http://m.timesofindia.com/tech/news/telecom/Nokia-no1-in-Indian-mobile-market-Study/articleshow/12107559.cms

The Indian smartphone market has grown 87% to 11.2M units vs 6M the previous year. Nokia’s market share here is 38% with Samsung closer at 38%, RIM dropping to 3rd at 15%.

CyberMedia Research Lead Telecoms Analyst Naveen Mishra said,

In 2012, the proportion of smartphones with extended features like NFC and 3D gaming is likely to increase. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft and Nokia take their partnership to the next level with a new range of smart devices based on the Windows 7.5 Mango OS platform

Multisim phones saw an increase of 61%, accounting for 57% of overall shipments. Nokia’s introduction of dual-sim in 2011 allowed them to regain sales due to the huge demand for dual sim devices. Nokia’s own dual SIM handsets are very well made, with lots of useful features to take advantage of Dual Sim beyond simply being a phone that has two SIM cards.

India is hugely important to Nokia. Note that the new PureView is destined for India. You can see this listed here as a game changer.

We hope to see not just sales but continued halo effects from Nokia’s products that are exciting the market.

More camera samples from Nokia 808 PureView

The striking 41MP camera of the Nokia 808 PureView won it an award and we can’t get enough of looking at camera samples from it. Nokia themselves released several still and video samples and they were nothing short of amazing.

We were lucky enough to get a chance to take out the 808 PureView for a quick spin themselves. Here are some crops from the original 38MP photos.

You can also visit their site if you want to look at the original photos, but be warned they weigh in at over 10MB each. It’s also worth noting that the Nokia 808 PureView is a couple of months away from launch, so Nokia still have time to polish the image processing firmware, as Nokia’s own Damian Dinning attests more than once.

Nokia Lumia 900 available for pre-order in the UK

UK retailer Clove has gotten official word from Nokia about the price of the Nokia Lumia 900 and they’ve put it up for pre-order. The 900 was first unveiled for AT&T but the global version of the phone was announced just a few days ago at the MWC.

The global Lumia 900 is pretty much the same handset as the AT&T version, with the notable exclusion of LTE. You still get a 4.3″ ClearBlack AMOLED screen, 8MP camera with 720p video and 16GB of storage all encased in a polycarbonate unibody.

Anyway, the Nokia Lumia 900 is available for pre-order from Clove for £530 (€635, $845). The exact date of availability is still not clear (all Clove knows is it’s going to be “some time Q2″). They are also not sure what color options they’ll get, but will release the info as soon as they have it.

Carphone Warehouse have a page for the Lumia 900 too, but that’s only so you can sign up for a notification when the phone becomes available. They do list May as the month they expect the phone to be available.

Here’s the preorder page if you’re interested. Also, you can read our hands-on with the Lumia 900 if you’re not familiar with it already.
