Nokia Lumia Challenge video – watch Nokia Lumia 800 trounce iPhone!

We know that the Nokia Lumia 800 is the best looking phone around, and we also know that the Windows Phone OS is the nicest to use. But does it actually perform everyday tasks better? The Nokia UK team took to the streets of London to find out by taking on rival handsets head-to-head!

Hands-on with the Nokia Lumia 800 PR1.2 update

The Windows Phone OS is so lovely to look at that it’s easy to forget what it’s meant for – to make everyday smartphone tasks as quick and free of hassle as possible. In order to do that, it would be helpful if it was quicker than the competition!

Nokia UK has been indulging in a little experiment to drive home the advantages of the Windows Phone platform on Nokia Lumia to the UK public. First up – our fair capital, London! Nokia took to the streets towards the end of February to pitch the Nokia Lumia 800 against its rivals in a number of key tasks. These tasks include posting text and pictures to Facebook and initiating a music-based search.

The competition? The phones owned by the good people of London! If you could beat the Nokia Lumia 800 to the punch in one of the above tasks, you could win yourself a shiny £10 note.

Check out the results in the following video. There are plenty of examples of the Nokia Lumia 800 trumping a certain fashionable favourite – the iPhone. Both the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S are shown losing out to the mighty Lumia 800, and the losers are kind enough to acknowledge the fact to camera. Good sports – now go and buy yourself a Nokia Lumia 800 with that £50 voucher you were given for taking part!

The video claims that the Nokia Lumia Challenge is coming to a city near you soon, so keep your eyes peeled and get ready to pitch your current phone into battle – provided it’s not a Nokia Lumia of course. That would just be pointless.
