VIDEO: Nokia 808 PureView Rich Recording unlike anything you’ve heard before

The Nokia 808 PureView with Nokia Belle is the world’s first smartphone to use Nokia Rich Recording – a new technology capable of recording staggering sound detail without distortion. Read on to see and hear it in action.

Nokia 808 PureView release date confirmed for May

We all know about the amazing photo quality you get with the Nokia 808 PureView. This time, though, we’re looking at how the audio recording and playback skills of the Nokia 808 PureView simply blow the competition away.

In the latest video showcasing Nokia Rich Recording, Teemu Rämö (Senior Manager, Audio HW for Nokia) explains how Nokia Rich Recording will change the way we hear the world around us when recorded on the Nokia 808 PureView.

Today’s smartphones are able to record in full high definition, and with the best possible picture quality, but it’s usually the audio quality that disappoints. Not with Nokia Rich Recording it doesn’t.

“Nokia Rich Recording records everything as you hear it. From the lowest bass sounds to the highest treble tones,” says Rämö. Every little detail is captured.

In a sound comparison test we can hear the difference as two unnamed smartphones and the Nokia 808 PureView are compared.

Smartphones ‘A’ and ‘B’ deliver sound full of messy noise and distortion, whereas the Nokia 808 PureView exhibits sound replicated as if you were actually there.

The Nokia 808 PureView, together with Nokia Rich Recording takes sound recording on smartphones to a “whole new level” Rämö says, adding that all future Nokia smartphones will benefit from Nokia Rich Recording.

With the Nokia 808 PureView set to hit the market in May, you shouldn’t have to wait long to try this Nokia Rich Recording out yourself!
