Nokia number 1 in Indian mobile market Ranking (Nokia 808 PureView for Nokia India coming soon)

The Times of India reports that according to a study by CyberMedia, Nokia maintains their number 1 position of the Indian market with 31% of the market, followed by Samsung at 15% and MicroMax at 5%.

http://m.timesofindia.com/tech/news/telecom/Nokia-no1-in-Indian-mobile-market-Study/articleshow/12107559.cms

The Indian smartphone market has grown 87% to 11.2M units vs 6M the previous year. Nokia’s market share here is 38% with Samsung closer at 38%, RIM dropping to 3rd at 15%.

CyberMedia Research Lead Telecoms Analyst Naveen Mishra said,

In 2012, the proportion of smartphones with extended features like NFC and 3D gaming is likely to increase. It will be interesting to see how Microsoft and Nokia take their partnership to the next level with a new range of smart devices based on the Windows 7.5 Mango OS platform

Multisim phones saw an increase of 61%, accounting for 57% of overall shipments. Nokia’s introduction of dual-sim in 2011 allowed them to regain sales due to the huge demand for dual sim devices. Nokia’s own dual SIM handsets are very well made, with lots of useful features to take advantage of Dual Sim beyond simply being a phone that has two SIM cards.

India is hugely important to Nokia. Note that the new PureView is destined for India. You can see this listed here as a game changer.

SOLUTION :- What is PureView on the Nokia 808 PureView 41-megapixel camera?

As you saw from our breaking news earlier, Nokia has unveiled the Nokia 808 PureView. The most advanced camera phone on the block promises to revolutionise the way we use photos taken on our smartphones. Confused? Read on and we’ll explain all you need to know about PureView, the need for a 41-megapixel sensor, and the latest on the 808 PureView’s video talents.

Nokia 808 PureView amazes with 41-megapixel camera sensor!

The Nokia 808 PureView the first smartphone to feature Nokia’s exclusive PureView imaging technology, and the first with an industry-changing 41-megapixel sensor. A breakthrough moment in smartphone photography may have just arrived.

A photography breakthrough

Its impressive 41-megapixel camera is capable of snapping photos the quality of which have yet to be seen on a smartphone. But PureView isn’t about shooting at sizes you won’t need. It’s about creating the best possible images you can possibly get from a smartphone.

The Nokia 808 PureView camera uses Carl Zeiss optics and Nokia’s pixel over-sampling technology to guarantee razor-sharp pictures, and eliminate the visual noise and colour distortion found on rival smartphone cameras. It does this by combining up to seven pixels into one “pure” pixel, says Nokia.

This means that you can zoom in up to 3X without losing any detail in your shots. A Creative Shooting Mode’ lets you capture images at 38-megapixels to crop, find the best part of the image after it has been shot, and save it for storage, or to share over social networks, email and MMS. In short, taking a photo using the Nokia 808 Pure View is just the beginning. Once the a photo is taken you essentially have a massive photography canvas to work with.

Those images should look great when taken in any condition. With an f2.4 aperture, Nokia promises better low light performance than previous camera phones. More than five times as much light is captured.

Full HD video recording

And for film fans, the Nokia 808 Pure View also records full HD 1080p video at 30 frames-per-second, with a 4X lossless zoom. The zoom increases to 6X when shooting at slightly lower, but still juicy 720p HD, going up to 12X for 640 x 360 videos.

Nokia Rich Recording for CD-quality recording and playback. Exclusive Dolby Headphone technology transforms any stereo content into a surround sound experience using any pair of headphones.

Rather than attempt to replace the photographers trusty Digital SLR Camera, the Nokia 808 PureView is suggested as the ideal pocket accessory for the professional photographer who never wants to miss a shot.

Not since the Nokia N8 has a camera phone had such an advanced set of photography and audio skills. And just like the Nokia N8 before it, the Nokia 808 Pure View looks set to revolutionise smartphone photography all over again. And we couldn’t be more excited.

Nokia Carla smartphones to ship in Q3, update coming in Q4 for all Belle devices !

More details on the upcoming Nokia Carla release came in. The platform previously known as Symbian will get its next update in Q3 of this year, when the first smartphones running Nokia Carla will hit the shelves.

According to the latest rumors, second-gen Belle smartphone, including Nokia 603, 700 and 701 will start shipping with the new version of their OS first. Later on, the rest of the Belle-running smartphones in the Nokia portfolio will get Carla as an update. Scheduled for Q4, the update should cover N8,C7,E7,X7,E6,C6-01.

Despite what previous rumors were saying, Carla will be distributed to all smartphones currently on Belle. However, those that lack NFC capabilities and 1GHz processors will get a trimmed down version of the update to avoid performance hiccups.

Finally, we learned that the Nokia N8 successor, which should be unveiled on Monday at the Nokia MWC press conference won’t be the last device to run on Carla. There are at least two more Carla smartphones in works – they should both come out this year.

It would be best if you take those rumors with a pinch of salt, but the source has a decent record for these things and there are few things that sound unreasonable, so it’s probably quite close to the truth.
